Imran Khan Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed an appeal today on 20th of June against the RO’s decision rejecting his nomination paper for NA-53 Islamabad.
PTI leader and the lawyer Babar Awan represented Imran khan before the appellate tribunal. In his appeal before the appellate tribunal, he requested to dismiss the RO’s earlier decision of rejecting khans Nomination paper. He has pleaded to the appellate tribunal that the decision of RO is contrary to the Constitution.
The registrar of high court informed the Imran khans attorney that Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani will hear the appeal on Thursday 21st of June against the RO’s decision.
PTI Chairman whose nomination papers have been rejected by the RO on the premise that Khan failed to fill in the column dedicated for listing down the work done during his tenure as MNA. Imran khan is believed to have never even visited his constituency(NA-56) even once in five years and hardly has been involved in any developmental work what so ever.
As the ECP formed eight appellate tribunals in Punjab, six in KPK, four in Sindh, two in Baluchistan and One in Islamabad to hear the appeals. The Appeals against the RO’s decision are to be filed from Wednesday 20th of June and the final decision with regards to the appeals against rejection of nomination papers from RO’s will be announced on 27th. The final list of candidates will be shared on 28th of June and the last date to withdraw the candidature in the case maybe is 29thof June while the symbols will be allotted on 30th of June to respective parties before the general election to be held on 25th of July 2018.
