Islamabad: Chief justice Mian Saquib Nisar while hearing a petition filed by Feroze Shah Gillani against NRO, summoned the assets details of Zardari , Musharraf  and former Attorney general Malik Muhammad Qayyum along with their dependents.

In 2007 Feroze Shah Gillian had filed a petition against the National reconciliation Order. Shah maintained in his petition that as a result of NRO the country suffered a loss worth billions of rupees since it quashed many corruption cases against the lawmakers, therefore,  pleaded the losses be recovered by those responsible for the promulgation of the illegal Ordinance as well as those who benefited from it.  ,

Asif Ali Zardari Co Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party had earlier declared that he had no role in the promulgation of the Ordinance and that the petition’s motive is only to politically victimize him. However Farooq.H.Naek his legal counsel, while submitting a reply on behalf of his client stated that his client has already attached an affidavit declaring his assets along with his nomination papers.

Meanwhile the Gen Musharraf’s counsel claimed that the notice issued by the esteemed Court on April 24 was received by his client on July 3 , thus he needs time to respond to the Courts orders.

Chief justice Pakistan while hearing the petition remarked ” corruption will not be forgiven” and  noted that  facets declared in the affidavits attached to the nomination papers will be investigated and the apex court shall summon details of the assets declared.
